Nerve Pain Relief

Tingling, burning or sharp pain in your legs, arms or back can make it hard to sit, stand or move comfortably. Our non-invasive care aims at what’s irritating the nerve.

When nerves are irritated, the signals don’t stop.

Your nervous system carries signals between your brain and body to control movement and sensation. When nerves are compressed, irritated or damaged, they can keep sending pain signals, even without a visible injury.

Common causes include herniated discs and bone spurs that compress spinal nerves, diabetic neuropathy, conditions such as fibromyalgia or multiple sclerosis that can make nerves more sensitive, and repetitive strain on the hands, wrists or other joints. Sciatica is one of the most frequent types of nerve pain.

Nerve pain feels different from other pain.

Describing how it feels and where it travels helps us understand which nerves are involved.

Burning or Shooting Pain

Burning, shooting or electric shock-like sensations.

Tingling & Numbness

Pins and needles or numbness in the arms, hands, legs or feet.

Radiating Pain

Pain that travels from the back or neck into an arm or leg.

Sensitivity to Touch

Heightened sensitivity to even light touch.

Foot Symptoms

Burning, tingling or numbness in the feet that can affect balance.

Repetitive Strain

Nerve discomfort from overuse of the hands, wrists or other joints.

Non-invasive care aimed at the cause.

Rather than masking symptoms, our care combines hands-on therapy with corrective techniques. Your plan may include manual techniques to ease pressure on pinched or irritated nerves, guided movements and nerve-gliding (“neural flossing”) exercises to improve nerve mobility, and strength and mobility work to help calm overactive pain signals.

Postural corrections and stability exercises aim to reduce the chance of nerve irritation returning. When it helps your recovery, we coordinate with your other healthcare providers.

No referral needed. Most commercial plans, including Medicare, accepted. Nerve pain care is offered at Dickson Chiropractic.
