Back Pain & Sciatica Relief

Sharp back pain, radiating nerve discomfort or stiffness that won’t let up often points to an underlying spinal issue. Our chiropractors look for the root cause and build a hands-on plan around it.

Your spine is a system of discs, joints and nerves.

When even one part of that system is out of balance, pain and dysfunction can follow. A herniated or bulging disc can press on a nearby nerve. An irritated sciatic nerve can send sharp, shooting pain, tingling or numbness down the leg. Stiff or inflamed facet joints can make twisting and bending painful, and tight, spasming muscle bands can refer tension into surrounding areas.

Most cases involve more than one of these factors. That’s why care at Nine Point Health starts with a comprehensive evaluation to pinpoint what’s contributing to your pain, rather than a one-size-fits-all routine.

Back and nerve pain show up in different ways.

Where your pain sits, how it travels and what makes it worse help us understand which structures are involved.

Lower Back Pain

A dull ache or sharp pain in the low back that may worsen with long periods of sitting, standing or lifting.

Pain Down the Leg

Sciatic pain often shoots down the leg, past the knee and sometimes into the foot, rather than staying in one spot.

Tingling or Numbness

Pins and needles, numbness or weakness in the leg can be a sign that a nerve is being compressed or irritated.

Stiffness When Bending

Restricted movement and difficulty twisting or bending, often linked to stiff or inflamed facet joints.

Muscle Spasm

Tight, spasming muscle bands that cause localized pain and tension radiating into nearby areas.

Worse With Sitting

Sitting too long, bending improperly or carrying heavy loads can intensify symptoms and trigger flare-ups.

Find the cause, then treat it directly.

Before treatment begins, we perform a detailed assessment: range-of-motion testing, nerve tension tests such as the straight leg raise, and postural and gait analysis. Imaging is reviewed when it’s needed, and X-rays are taken only if necessary.

Your plan may combine chiropractic adjustments, spinal decompression, hands-on soft tissue work and corrective exercises to help stabilize the spine, improve mobility and ease pressure on irritated nerves, along with ergonomic coaching to help prevent flare-ups.

No referral needed. Most commercial plans, including Medicare, accepted. Spinal decompression is offered at Chiropractic Associates, Dickson Chiropractic and Pure Health Chiropractic.

A clear path from relief to resilience.

Relief Care

The first goal is calming pain and nerve irritation. Visits are often more frequent in this phase, commonly two to three times a week for several weeks.

Corrective Care

As pain settles, we work on the spinal imbalances, weak areas and movement habits that contributed to it, so the problem is less likely to return.

Wellness Care

Periodic check-ins, home exercises and ergonomic strategies help keep your back moving well over the long term.
