Your neck carries more than you think.
Your cervical spine supports your head and protects your spinal cord while letting you turn, tilt and nod all day long. Poor posture from screen time, muscle strain from repetitive movements or sudden injuries, joint stiffness from arthritis or aging, nerve compression from a herniated disc, stress-related tension and awkward sleeping positions can all lead to pain and stiffness.
Left unaddressed, neck problems can lead to radiating pain or numbness, limited mobility, headaches linked to neck tension and weakness in the shoulders or upper back. That’s why care at Nine Point Health starts with finding the root cause.
Neck pain shows up in different ways.
Where you feel it, what makes it worse and whether it travels help us understand what’s involved.
Stiffness & Limited Motion
Trouble turning your head to check a blind spot or look over your shoulder.
Posture-Related Pain
Aching that builds during long stretches at a screen or desk with poor ergonomics.
Radiating Pain or Numbness
Pain, tingling or numbness traveling into the shoulder or arm, which can point to nerve irritation.
Tension Headaches
Headaches that come with tight neck and shoulder muscles.
Shoulder & Upper Back Weakness
Weakness or fatigue in the shoulders or upper back alongside neck pain.
Waking Up Sore
Stiffness first thing in the morning that may be linked to sleeping position or pillow support.
Find the cause, then treat it directly.
Your evaluation may include range-of-motion testing, hands-on assessment of joint stiffness or misalignment, a neurological screen for nerve irritation, a posture analysis and a check of muscle strength and endurance.
Your plan may include chiropractic adjustments and other hands-on care to restore joint movement, targeted stretches for muscle tightness, postural retraining, strengthening exercises to stabilize the spine and ergonomic guidance to help reduce future strain.
