Whiplash Treatment

Whiplash can bring neck pain, stiffness and headaches that make it hard to move comfortably, work or sleep. We look at what’s behind your symptoms and create a plan to support your recovery.

A sudden jolt can strain the whole neck.

Whiplash happens when the head and neck are suddenly and forcefully moved backward and forward. That rapid movement can stress the muscles, ligaments and joints of the cervical spine. Rear-end collisions are a common cause, along with other auto accidents, sports collisions, slip-and-fall accidents and work-related falls or impacts.

Symptoms don’t always appear right away; they may develop hours or even days later. Without the right care, they can linger and contribute to ongoing neck pain, reduced range of motion, headaches and trouble sleeping or concentrating.

Whiplash symptoms to watch for.

Some show up immediately; others build over the following days.

Persistent pain and stiffness that make it hard to turn your head.

Reduced Range of Motion

Neck movement that feels limited or guarded.

Headaches

Headaches alongside neck stiffness, muscle tension and reduced mobility.

Shoulder & Upper Back Pain

Muscle tension and discomfort spreading into the shoulders and upper back.

Arm Tingling or Numbness

Tingling, numbness or discomfort extending into the arms.

Trouble Sleeping or Focusing

Pain and stiffness that interfere with sleep or concentration.

A plan built around your injury.

We start by discussing how the injury happened, when your symptoms began and how they affect your day. Your evaluation may assess neck range of motion, muscle strength, posture, tenderness and overall function, along with the shoulders and upper back.

Treatment may include hands-on care to reduce muscle tension and improve mobility, soft tissue techniques, gradual mobility and strengthening exercises, postural retraining and education to help you manage your recovery and return to normal activities.

No referral needed. Most commercial plans, including Medicare, accepted. Seek prompt medical attention for significant weakness, severe or worsening pain, numbness or coordination problems.

A steady path back to comfortable movement.

Relief Care

Early visits focus on easing pain and muscle tension and gently restoring neck movement.

Corrective Care

Strengthening, flexibility and posture work rebuild support for the neck. Many people with mild whiplash improve within several weeks; more persistent symptoms may need a longer course of care.

Wellness Care

Periodic check-ins and a home program help you keep your progress and return to the activities you enjoy.
